Investment programme at Manchester Airport

A huge investment programme at Manchester Airport of over £1 billion aims to transform the experience for passengers and airlines and has included the provision of a new multi-storey car park. Car parking capacity at the airport had not kept pace with the growth in passenger numbers and the new car park delivers space for 3,800 vehicles.

Lang+Fulton supplied 725 framed panels of Stereo-3 grating for the facade in a hot-dip galvanized finish, covering 3462m². The remaining area of 2000m² was secured with panels of 358 galvanised wire mesh which was treated with 60 microns of epoxy primer before the application of a 40 micron polyester powder coating in silver RAL9006. The wire mesh panels were fixed with clamping flat bars which were finished in a matching powder coat.
