Langley Estate part of Central Government’s
Oldham and Rochdale Council’s programme to regenerate the Langley Estate forms part of Central Government’s Housing Market Renewal initiative and includes 700 new homes based around the demolition of two tower blocks and the clearance of other sub-standard housing.
The development of 42 apartments at Millbeck Gardens was awarded an additional budget from the HMR fund for groundworks and landscaping in line with the Council’s policy of reconnecting people with the environment. This included the specification of a Roma-3 perimeter fencing system, aperture 62x132mm, with flat bar posts in a mica grey finish. Almost 200 metres of fencing was supplied together with one double-leaf and 7 pedestrian gates, with electric strikes at the main entry points for controlled access and automatic activation by the fire alarm.
Brick built pillars punctuate the design to tie in with the façade of the buildings.
