Siena Railing Fence for St John’s RC Primary School & Treverlen Park
The significant size of the site for the new St John’s RC Primary School allowed for the inclusion of the first new park in Edinburgh for a generation, providing amenity green space and and play areas. Holmes Miller Architects were selected for both projects to promote integration and blur the boundary between the park and school.
A Siena railing fence and double-leaf gate were specified for the 172-meter intermediate boundary. The 2.2m-high railings, which are manufactured with conical pales, met the requirement for a high level of security for the school pupils. Â A further two double-leaf gates were supplied for the street front of the school and two single-leaf gates for pedestrian access.
The panels and post were hot-dip galvanized and polyester powder coated RAL7093 for a durable, long-lasting finish.
