High roof-screen of Italia-80i panels at Dakota Glasgow

Dakota Glasgow is a remarkable conversion of a redundant office block. The hotel is situated in the old financial and commercial centre of the city, and is surrounded by many listed Georgian buildings. Planning conditions therefore stipulated that all roof-top service plant should be visually screened.

A 2-metre high roof-screen of Italia-80i panels was fitted retrospectively. During the design process important consideration was given to the support system, with the capability of withstanding a significant wind loading but which would not impair the integrity of the existing waterproof membrane.
