REnescience Northwich Project generate 5MW each year
The REnescience Northwich Project is Orsted’s newest bio-resource facility, built in Cheshire. The plant will handle 120,000 tons of unsorted and untreated household waste a year, equivalent to the waste from approximately 110,000 homes, and generate between 5MW and 6MW of renewable electricity a year.
The project has involved the construction of a main building incorporating offices, a control room, a waste bunker, storage and sorting facilities and two REnescience bioreactors. Lang+Fulton have supplied louvred screening panels to hide the service plant on the roof-top of the reception area.
