North Kent Police HQ - Landmark Building, Gravesend
North Kent Police HQ is a four-storey landmark building of 11,500 m2 situated at Gravesend.
Glenn Howells Architects were responsible for developing the building concept which features a number of ‘green’ technologies including solar shading to the south façade which is provided by means of brise soleil.
These aesthetics are complemented by an inner perimeter fence supplied by Lang+Fulton from their range of steel louvred fencing. The Italia-100 louvred fencing which provides 100% visual screening was considered appropriate for the required high level of security.
The fencing was mounted on a dwarf wall to protect against the possibility of ramming by car-jackers.
