Investment programme at Manchester Airport
A huge investment programme at Manchester Airport of over £1 billion aims to transform the experience for passengers and airlines and has included the provision of a new multi-storey car park. Car parking capacity at the airport had not kept pace with the growth in passenger numbers and the new car park delivers space for 3,800 vehicles.
Lang+Fulton supplied 725 framed panels of Stereo-3 grating for the facade in a hot-dip galvanized finish, covering 3462m2. The remaining area of 2000m2 was secured with panels of 358 galvanised wire mesh which was treated with 60 microns of epoxy primer before the application of a 40 micron polyester powder coating in silver RAL9006. The wire mesh panels were fixed with clamping flat bars which were finished in a matching powder coat.
