Frogston Primary School & Early Learning Nursery - Siena Steel Railings
Frogston Primary School and Early Learning Nursery have been built to meet the demands of new housing and an increased population in the South-East of Edinburgh.
Outdoor space within a safe environment is a core value in the City of Edinburgh Council’s Vision for School Grounds (2018), epitomised in the belief that external areas provide a foundation for the delivery of Curriculum for Excellence where outdoor learning is recognised as fundamental.
This approach prioritises careful consideration of the landscaping.  Frogston Primary School’s façade merges with a new park and neighbouring residential properties creating a civic presence but the extensive play areas and entrances required secure boundary demarcation. A 2.4 metre high Siena railing fence and five double-leaf gates were specified for the perimeter to create the necessary enclosed spaces for the safety of the young children.
The fence panels and posts were hot-dip galvanized and polyester powder coated RAL 7039 for a durable low maintenance finish.
