Olympia Car Park, British Parking Association

Dundee’s newest multi-storey car park has been awarded a Park Mark certificate conferring safer parking status. The deputy city development convener praised the initial design as a contributing factor.

Set up by the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland and backed by the Scottish Government, the Park Mark scheme is managed by the British Parking Association and is aimed at reducing crime in parking facilities.

The Olympia car park, which is covered in a kinetic art installation incorporating hundreds of freely-moving stainless steel sheets, is part of a £31.5 million leisure pool development and has spaces for 500 vehicles.
