Crossrail at Abbey Wood Station: Torino-11
Panels of Torino-11, measuring 3100x1500mm were supplied to Abbey Wood Station as part of the Crossrail project.
The grating panels, with radiused end sections, were mounted on top of acoustic blockwork to complete the protective barrier for the overhead line equipment (OLE or OHLE).
The small aperture of the Torino-11 grating was in compliance with railway regulations for OLE protection of <1200mm2. The posts were specially designed as extensions to the supports for the acoustic blockwork creating a final structure 6200mm high.
Torino-11 was also used to screen a stair that provides access to the new station entrance which has been integrated with the elevated flyover, Harrow Manor Way, which crosses the two new Elizabeth line tracks and the existing Southeastern lines.
